Alexandra Maria Lara has been an Romanian/German film and television actress for more than a decade. Alexandra is famous for her the roles she played in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her professional career in showbiz early. She played lead roles in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. Following her highly acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, on Downfall. The film was nominated for an Oscar and won critical and commercial popularity. Additional Oscar nominated film starring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's work has led her to participate in several important national and international projects. These include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French historic miniseries Napoleon and many more. She also served part of the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
